It analyzes the typical problems that arise while writing a thesis with LaTeX and suggests improved solutions by handling easy packages.

In the frontmatter, pages are numbered with lower case Roman numbers (i, ii, iii, etc.) and the chapters are not numbered (as if the asterisk version \chapter*{} was used). In the mainmatter, pages are numbered with Arabic numbers (the numbers start from 1) and the chapters are numbered with Arabic numbers as well.

Use oday as \date argument to automatically generate the current date. Leave it empty in case you don’t want the date to be printed.
